While his analysis worldss what points provides to the conversation could have been and should have been interjected into his first book for the purpose of clarification, he misses out on providing an internal definition of knowledge even in this following book.
In honesty this worked well until Book 6 when I put the book down and didn’t come back to it for a fortnight. And yet, hasn’t he contradicted himself?
Logics of Worlds: Being and Event, 2 by Alain Badiou
Badiou, through his theory of the event, saves himself from this dilemma, the event of revolution is not produced, and it is an unpredictable, un-planable exception. What is perhaps wonderful about Badiou’s approach, as well, is that he sidesteps the traditional jargon that Zizek has to deal with.

I changed my approach and didn’t resign to my lack of understanding and painstakingly pursued each proof in laborious detail to make sure that every sentence was understood.
It’s flawed for the reasons I point out, but it’s still well worth the read. The individual becomes a faithful subject by becoming a finite portion of an infinite truth procedure. To see what your friends thought of this book, please sign up.

This pure modeling becomes all the more valuable when it is connected to a process which then is able to modify one another. Both in Badiou’s magnum opus, Being and Event and its new sequel, Logics of Worldsthe result is a kind of paradoxical formalism of the limits of formalism itself, striking a sometimes uneasy balance between the inveterate tendency of analytic thought to seek formal solutions for theoretical problems of epistemology and metaphysics, and that of continental thought to seek the solution to what are seen as more-than-theoretical problems of social and political praxis in the kinds of liberation that may occur outside the “closed” regime of all that is calculable or tractable by formal systems.

When talking about one of the most important ISAs, that of education, he talks about how teachers, committed to the idea of class struggle, can influence and divert the educational ideology away from reinforcing that of the state ideology, he calls this a sign: Introduction For Badiou, the human individual has a material animal existence, finite and mortal, but it also has the capacity to become an immortal subject.

Although our everyday struggles, for better conditions of work and pay, cannot create the conditions for a revolution to happen, they do not change the material base of our condition, but they do change our relation to this base. Thus the punctual articulation of a Truth by means of an evental break with a given situation is always partial, and liable to be taken up again, even after a lapse of centuries or millennia, through the renewal of a faithful tracing of the consequences of a subsequent Event by the agency of what Badiou terms the “subject” pp.
